It’s fun to stay at the Y…M…C…

That’s right, these two young men have found a place they can go when they’re short of their dough and they don’t want to get stung by inflated Noo Yoik prices. Here’s the link:

We chose the Vanderbilt YMCA because:

• We get our own room (bunk beds, just like when we were kids).
• There’s free wi-fi in the room (usually it’s just in common areas).
• It comes with cable TV (might get to see a LIVE police chase).
• The location’s half-decent (i.e. it’s in Manhattan).
• Virtually everywhere else is already booked up for our budget.

So, we’ve taken the room for a total of four nights…and let’s hope there’s no one else on the same floor and we get the bathroom all to ourselves (a highly unlikely scenario!)

It may be cheap and cheerful, and they don’t include breakfast, but at this stage of the game it would be a bad idea to get hooked on quality of any kind.

There’s a LONG way to go after we leave this metropolis…it’s likely to get a lot worse!
