Just remembered I left The Morotcycle Diaries at mum and dad’s house on Sunday – after all that fuss about bringing it back!

What's this all about then, Grayboy?

Several years ago James Gray (34) and his brother Tim (31) were sent to prison by a military court for a crime they did not commit. Once they escaped, they decided they should travel the world to celebrate their freedom and fulfil a lifelong ambition.

At first it was going to be a 12 month trip, then 9 months, then 8, then 7, and now it's definitely going to be 6 and a bit. The plan is to circumnavigate the globe in an anti-clockwise direction via planes, trains, automobiles and whatever else can get them from A to B, possibly via Z if the roads are a bit dodgy.

It makes sense to do this now while they are free from family responsibilities, have the odd few coppers saved up, are still reasonably young, yet with a bit more streetwise swagger than they would have had a decade ago (so they claim!) Doesn't mean it can't all go wrong...but isn't that all part of the fun?

13th June - Manchester to New York

31st July - Los Angeles to Auckland

28th August - Christchurch to Cairns

25th September - Melbourne to Singapore

20th December - Mumbai to Manchester
